Business Management Holiday Session

Good evening ladies and gentlemen of ATAR Notes,

Being a diligent Business Management student, committed to enhancing my and my peers' understanding of the intricacies and nuances contained within the extensive Business Management Units 3&4 course, I would like to propose something..

I trust that you will entertain my idea wholeheartedly as I put this suggestion forward in good faith.

I propose that one day, during the upcoming school holidays, we get together at a pre-determined location to have a revision session for Unit 3.

In my opinion, this would be very beneficial for everyone in attendance as it would allow for us to refresh our knowledge of all of Unit 3, while working ahead with Unit 4.

Perhaps, we could assign a dot-point in the study design to each person, and they would have to explain that specific section of Unit 3 to the rest of the group. This would help this person to solidify their understanding of that dot-point and would act as a refresher for everyone else.

In addition to this, since most of us go to different schools - we all have slightly different notes. Perhaps we could each bring copies of our notes for everyone else in attendance and would in turn receive a set of notes from each other person in attendance. (Physical copies or we could transfer them electronically).

This way, we would accumulate a wealth of knowledge. Who knows, another teacher from another school may have explained something in a different way that works better for you.

Printing off so many copies of notes could potentially cost a bit - but if you think about it - attending a revision lecture from an external organisation could cost $50+... Printing off maybe a dozen sets of notes will almost certainly cost less.

This is simply a suggestion and I'm going to need everyone that is interested to express their interest as soon as possible so I can begin the planning process. (Unlike my proposed Unit 3 Chemistry Revision session which sparked almost no interest!)

Cheers,
Surgeon :)

Hi Surgeon,

I'm happy to provide my help and collaborate if required.

i was planning to do one but wasn't sure on how many people would go.

I have plenty revision resources and notes plus did busman in 2010.

Possible place would be RMIT UNI in the city - i could book a room.

This would be a good idea for everyone to do revision.

Waste of time. Why dwell on unit 3, when there is unit 4? Maybe I'm just bitter because I lost so many god damn easy marks due to expression, or not reading the questions properly. Anyway,
I'll upload my unit 3 stuff. However, it does not cover all of the dot points written in the study design. Instead it follows the revision sheet that my teacher gives me which includes only the most important knowledge required for busman. There ok notes, but they could definitely be improved - particularly eos1 and eos3. I basically plucked out some notes from shinny, burberry, and other various sources - along with my own paraphrashing and just rolled them together into a set of cram notes. enjoy:

UPLOAD YOUR NOTES PEOPLE!
I want to re-write my notes but make them follow all of the dot-points written in the study design.
Your notes might contain some of the content that I may have overlooked. Or you may have explained concepts in a more concise way. Even if your notes suck, just upload them so we can get a wealth of information happening. I'm prepared to weed out the good from the bad and write up some kick-butt notes that dont stray from the study design. And yes, I might be interested in going to the study sesh. However, I'm getting all 4 wisdoms pulled out on the 3rd and I might be out of action for a couple of days.

I'm sorry - but I fail to see how revising over the things covered in Unit 3 is a waste of time and can even be remotely considered as "dwelling in the past".

The exam on the 15th of November will cover all of Units 3/4.... Unit 3 is half of the course so it's imperative that we solidify our understanding of what we have learnt thus far.

Thanks, mate.

Thanks for volunteering to help out - I'll contact you and we'll get planning if there is enough interest from the AN community. I'm not so sure about booking a room at RMIT as it will cost us something like $30 per hour for the room and although I would be happy to split the cost to hire the room with everyone, I'm not sure if others would be.

That sounds pretty good! It's essential for us to revise Unit 3 because at the end of the day, the exam is composed of both 3 & 4. I'm up for it and I'm sure that I can get a few dedicated students from my school to come also!
