Only 50? Why so little interest? Or did most people do it in semester 1?

Also, any predictions on when calc 1 results will come out? The exam was the 4th of June.

It's run both semesters and I'm pretty sure the Sem2 class is full now. It's only necessary for people considering the major so it's not entirely popular, it's a practical subject and a lot of people hate prac. About 300 were enrolled in the theory subject.

Right sorry I meant sem 2 haha. If anyone who has done this subject/any other micro subjects could find the time to do a review that would be really helpful :) I'm still tossing up between path and micro for a major but planning to do subjects from both to see which one I enjoy the most.

Sure :) I will write a review in the thread once my results come out and let you know when I have so you can read it! They were both pretty good subjects! Recommend taking them together in Sem 1 as there is a lot of overlap and it's not hard to take them concurrently - think it helps a bit, feels like you're only doing three subjects (one with a bit more work). I kind of wish I had the opportunity to take Path in Semester 2 so I could see what it's like, but I'm leaning more towards being a stereotypical Physiology student after this semester anyway, so we will see!

are you serious? people usually say chem 2 gets really hard and half of the people fail and what not

Maybe it's because I tried desperately hard not to fail at Physics in first semester and therefore didn't have as much time for Chem 1! Our exam was really hard that year though, too, I didn't finish it in time >:
Idk, I got an 86 in Chem 1 and a 96 in Chem 2 so take from that what you will. Perhaps it depends on the person - I felt there was more mathematical stuff in Chem 1 and more theoretical stuff (even the Quantum shit was theoretical) in Chem 2 so maybe that's why I did better in the latter. I do suck at maths.

If you're not doing micro/immuno then you're doing science wrong

Opt for 0 life and make your boss really angry by being like "yeah sorry I need three weeks off work or I'm quitting without notice!"
I genuinely love studying too much though >: I just do it all the time.

Yes - I want to know too :P I have also heard that apparently a lot of people fail chem 2 and that it is a big step from chem 1.

I heard that too and freaked out about Chem 2, but I always hear these things! Apparently like 33% of people fail Human Physiology and 25% of people failed the Micro midsem according to the LMS so...
But I don't understand how! My marks are always okay >:

So do you do pre-reading too?

So do you do pre-reading too?

Sometimes but not usually, pre-reading doesn't really work for me because I don't understand what I need to know until it's outlined in a lecture. I'm a terrible uni learner! So I read the readings after the lecture, and use those and my notes to create a preliminary summary. That summary then gets used to make final summaries at the end of the semester! But by summaries they are not really because it's usually about...six? seven? 96 page handwritten books per subject. They're more books that contain EVERYTHING IN THE COURSE. It's the only way I learn. For Chem though, practice exams all the way!

Yeah I agree, practice exams. I'm going to start them earlier next time and just make heaps of notes analysing where I went wrong.
