English study scores?

SORRY if this isn't meant to be here but if I got 84/100 for my unit 3 score and 7, 8, 8 for a practice exam. What would my study score be, approximately, if I stayed at this rate? Thank you.

Your SAC mark isn't particularly important. It's your ranking within your cohort and exam mark that ultimately decides your study score.

I think it's safe to assume that they're referring to SAC marks, considering the exam is out of 60, I would assume no school does a SAC worth 100 marks and SAC marks are out of 100. :)

Can't determine anything until you get your Unit 4 marks. For above 40 you need an A or A+ on the exam, most likely an A+

A+ A+ A+ got me a 42 in geography, A+, A+, A got me 38 in Lit. Keep in mind. You need a very low A+ average to get a 40.

Unit 3 sacs = C+ (oral), A+ (Lang anal), A (context), A+ (text response).
Statement of marks: Final scaled score for unit 3 sacs = 100/100. (A+)

Unit 4 sacs = A (context), C (text response).
Statement of marks: Final scaled score for unit 4 sacs = 91/100. (A+)

Final English exam: LA - 19/20 (9.5/10), Context - 18/20 (9/10), Text Response - 19/20 (9.5/10)
                             Final exam mark: 28/30.

Study Score: 47.

You can use that as a guide to help derive what study score you might get. This was my friend btw, he went to one of the top private schools last year so his sacs scaled massively. All the best to everyone this year. At the end of the day it does help to have an idea of how your sacs will scale, but just focus on what you can change from now on, i.e. the exam.

I dont think you should put a grade on those sacs because those mean nothing to the final grade for sacs..

The only thing that matters for SACS is where you rank in your cohort.. You could have 5/20 for every sac but still beat everyone else in your cohort,  and still get 50 for English.. I don't like it when schools give students a grade because at the end of the day students think that an A+ in SACS from your teacher equals an A+ for their final SAC mark from VCAA when this is clearly not the case

Hmmm. Okay.
Well, my unit 3 score is 84/100 as mentioned and I'm aiming for the same in unit 4. I'm about 4th or 5th for English in my cohort and I'm aiming for around (realistically) on my exam 8, 9 10.

I'm hoping this will get above 40. I don't even need or want a high 40, just want to be above 40.  ;D Thanks for your help, guys (or girls, haha)

That's much closer to a 40. The A+ cutoff for last years GA01 I think was like 82%? You're going to hit around 40 if you maintain those scores for the exam and for unit 4 sacs.

Yeah last year's cutoff was 23.5 so those scores are headed pretty up there :) I'd guestimate 43 or there's about depending on other scores in your cohort etc.

My cohort aren't that good. There are 5 of us that are up the top and the rest average around a D. Oh well. Guess I better stop fretting and do some work.  :P
