Dropping a double degree

Are we allowed to drop a degree when doing a double degree?

E.g i want to do pharmacy and commerce double degree but during the first 4 yrs of the pharmacy degree, am i allowed to drop the commerce part of it(the nxt 2yrs of the double degree) if i happen to change my mind? If so, would i have to pay anything to drop it, or is it entirely free?

Thanks

Pretty sure you can, just ask the managing faculty to do so.

Varies from degree to degree, normally yes you can submit an alternative exit form and your managing faculty will allow you to drop out of the degree into a single degree. It is free of charge, however you must be careful because sometimes credit points earned from one degree is NOT transferable to another degree thus you may have to extend the length of your degree for completion. So make sure you have checked with your faculty to see what credit points from what units are transferable so you don't waste your first few years doing units which can not be transferred.

loads of people do pharm/comm only to drop commerce after registering as a pharmacist (very common, but it's good to keep commerce as an option)
