Hey guys, I have a SAC on Wednesday regarding the Crucible and need some help on the prompt:
'Conflict gives us insights into people’s true natures.'
I've having trouble finding 3 ideas for my body paragraphs and any assistance would be appreciated. I'm planning to include a main idea and examples from real life and the crucible in each paragraph.
1. Ostensibly it does, as conflict can be seen to corrupt - link to one of many examples from history
2. However, a deeper understanding of conflict allows one to acknowledge that often, in the ensuing chaos, people are blinded by the occurences and actions of individuals around them, thus their true nature, often more belevolent, can be betrayed by a momentary lapse of judgement - an example here would be more difficult, maybe find an event where a leader or someone has come to regret their past actions in the heat of conflict
3. While conflict can reveal much about the true nature of an individual, opposingly, much of what one can derive about someone's personality through their involvement in conflict may simply prove to be a figment of one's imagination -
I didn't do the crucible though so I can't provide any examples, sorry
