Congrats one^4 :D

I got 72.5/90. 20/24 marks in the MC cost me. Got 24.5 on Electronics and 28 on Motion.

Not too shabby since I am planning for it to be outside my top 4. :)

lost 1.5 when i made a silly error for power diode question
lost 1 mark on explanation of string tension (vertical circle) and 1 mark last q elec mod demod
fml

50 impossible now :'(
If you get 89+/90 for Exam 2, you should get 50, since its likely they'll make the Unit 4 exam hard. It's not out of reach, chin up mate.

I think you're being a bit too hard on yourself:
1) You will most likely be surprised on the UMAT, lots of people are. And even if not, getting a 99+ ATAR is very good for JCU, pretty much guaranteed with a decent written app.
2) What are your SS aims? Pretty sure you can still get 99.90, especially if you beast English and Spesh.
eg. Physics (47), Bio (50), Chem (40), Eng (47), Methods (47), Spesh (45) gets 99.90, pretty sure you can do better than that anyway.

I love VegemiteP's sig.

Haha same I did it because I thought it was maths based. Liked motion, and the maths on electronics get to Unit 4 WTF lol, why no maths?

Mathsy physics is so dry.

thushan full marked end of years and cutoff was higher than last years it was 82 this year. lot's of people will have gotten higher than 86.5 this exam, too many to still have a shot at 50

without at least 49 phy my chances of getting 99.9 are ridiculously low and i'm pretty sure my UMAT was shit
fml

woah woah woah woah WOAH. Bazza chin up man. Vegemite was right, i got 86/90 in exam 1 in physics. I'll be honest, i get what you mean, I reacted the same way last year. But I didn't have a predicament, but you do (as in no one I knew before me got 50 having dropped 4 in the midyear). Plus, I don't know whether I full marked the endofyear. Plus, ok 50 is the best you can get, but 48-49 (if you get say 87+ in Unit 4 exam) is still brilliant. It's only like a point difference once you take scaling into account.

Chin up man.

thanks for the encouragement, but there's no point lying to myself. I can't get 50 physics anymore; i'll need to full mark end of years for a 49. last years cutoff was 78, this year it's 82, 86.5 this year is probably equivalent to 85 last year. I'll sook about it today then try pick myself up tomorrow

Im not telling you to lie to yourself - i'm just saying that it's still possible. Say you get 90/90 in a hard (A+ cut <80) end of year.

But anyway, getting 49 is not half bad - btwn u and me there's like no difference :)

If your concern is for the Chancellor's Scholar program, I think they DO give a few places to students who get 99.85 or even slightly lower, depending on availability. I'm in your boat of having it possibly just out of reach no matter how well I do on end of years, but like I said, there's still hope. Especially with so many of the 99.95 and 99.90 students going to Monash.
