Interstate university accommodation

Hey guys,

So if I end up going interstate for university, I'd prefer to live on campus. I understand there's an application procedure to gain residence at the university, I just wanted to afl whether I need to apply for residency before I know whether I've been accepted into the course or not. If I go interstate, the university is likely to be JCU, Adelaide, ANU, maybe UWS or UNSW.

Common sense says that I would apply for residency after being accepted into the course but I just wanted to be sure.

I applied for JCU residence before I was accepted. You have a much better chance of being accepted a place in their on-campus accommodation  applying early because when crunch time arrives, a waiting list develops.

Generally you'll have to do it right after because they fill up pretty quickly - albeit this is just heresay, I don't know

But yeah, if you want to be safe, you'll have to do it before - note that some places have a processing fee which you'll have to submit with your application (like it can be up to $60) which you will forfeit if you decline your offer to stay.
