Comparison of courses with Melb Uni's BComm

Hi guys,

I'm currently in the process of applying for my courses and I would like to know how RMIT's Accounting and Economics & Finance courses compare to Melbourne Uni's Bachelor of Commerce (with majors in Accounting and Finance).

I actually might end up putting both in anyway as backup, but I need to determine my first preference.

Thank you.

I completed my first year b of business at rmit majoring in eco/accouniting before transferring to melb b. comm. and i can honestly tell you that there was not much difference in what is taught at rmit in 1st yr to what is taught at melbourne. To provide an example; i was credited with all my subjects from rmit when i trasnferred and did not find myself falling behind in my 2nd yr subjects (which proves that rmit did teach me more or less the same concepts as melb).

In fact, one of my first year accounting subject - management accounting was credited as a 2nd year accounting subject - cost management.

I also found that I was given much more assistance in regards to subjects knowledge at rmit than what I found at melb (which seems to promote a more self-study type of environment).

Not sure if any of this helps, but good luck on your studies.
