Negotiated Offer

I hope everyone's studies are going well and I know you are all working hard and focusing 100%.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up this year with regards to VTAC applications.  In the past, there used to be an "Irregular Offer" process that you can apply for.  This year, the name has been changed to "Negotiated Offer".

Although it might just sound like a name change, please note there is also one little subtle change that might affect some students.  Previously, international students were not allowed to apply for this process.  Now, they can!  But they can only do so after Round 1, which is 17 January 2013 at 2pm for 2012 VTAC applicants.

Additionally, the How Do Tertiary Offers Work? has been updated for this change.

Thanks everyone and best of luck!

Hi Gloamglozer,

I will apply through negotiated offer, but was wondering if I should accept my round 1 offer first or leave it?

I called VTAC twice. The first time they said the negotiated offer outcome will come out before the closing date for the first round offer.

The second time they said accept the first round offer first, and I'll still be able to apply through negotiated offer. Apparently it's better this way in case the uni doesn't get through the negotiated offers fast enough.

Can someone confirm that I can accept first round offer then apply through negotiated offer?

Thanks

Hey

I applied for a negotiated offer and apparently it's been approved. It says to wait for the second round offers to come out for instructions on how to accept the offer. But the enrollment day for my first round offer is a week before then... so what do I do?

Do I attend the first enrollment day anyway or wait for the next one which I presume I will be told about when second round offers are released?

Congratulations. on the negotiated offer.  Then your first round offer will lapse since your negotiated offer has been approved and you will no longer be eligible for future round offers.

I've done the same thing and contacted monash to find out what to do
You don't attend enrolment day for the first round offer but you need to go into your WES account and apply for course discontinuation [pretty much tells  them you don't want the course].
You will receive information on your enrolment for the other course when 2nd round offers come out :)

Thank you very much! :D For some reason I can't discontinue my course online so I may just turn up to enrollment day (29th) anyway to contact the faculty. (since it's the long weekend and I assume you can't call Monash uni then?)

have you tried doing it through WES?
they can do it over the phone so you don't need to turn up to enrolment day just for that
if you're not going to do the course you don't turn up :)
which course were you in?

Yeah, I've tried that. I spoke to someone at the faculty and they just said to try discontinuing after second round offers/negotiated offers come out and to call them if it still doesn't work.
I'm in Pharmacy, my negotiated offer was simply a switch to the Pharmacy scholars program :) What course are you changing to?

I have a problem about negotiated offers, I applied for a negotiated offer after I received my first round offer through Vtac. my negotiated offer has been approved. now I am unsure about what I have to do for my first round offer, do I defer it or wait it to be lapse??

If you haven't accepted your first round offer or haven't done anything about it, then you just wait for it to lapse.  Basically, do nothing.  If you have accepted your first round offer, then you will have to withdraw.  Depending on the institution, this may have to be done online or by paper.
