Transferring from sci to eng/sci at monash ( first year student)

Hey guys,
               So basically, can i do an internal transfer from first year science into engineering/science at the end of the year provided that i get a high gpa even though my english study score  does not meet the english pre-requisite for the course ( which is a 30 study score)

not sure if this is true, but once you get into uni they will only consider your uni grades and not your atar/vce grades.

So if it is true, im pretty sure you should be able to transfer if you get the required grades
