1. If I put my preferences as 1 and 2, then when the offers come out, can I change my mind and choose prefence 2 instead of 1?

2. How do offers work? Do i just get all the offers that I qualify for and listed at the same time?

3. Why doesn't melbourne allow double degrees? does that Make Monash a better uni because it has double degrees? What's the purpose of having a double degree?

4. Thank you.

As far as I know, you only get one offer, which is your highest preference that you get into. So you can't really change your mind after the deadline for changing your preferences ~24 December, although there is a possibility of negotiating directly with the institution, but it's better just to make sure your preferences are in the right order.

Melbourne doesn't offer double degrees because of its new Melbourne model where you have to do a relatively broad undergraduate degree before specialising at postgrad level. It doesn't necessarily make it better or worst than other universities but if you want to do a double degree it might be better to go to Monash.

Would probably good idea to check out the stickies :)
How Do Tertiary Offers Work?

3. It's just the way the Melbourne Model works, comes down to personal preference as to which one is better. Double degree means you keep your options open, like you could do commerce/science at Monash.

Does doing a double degree make it easier for you to find a job? What if you're really good at the one subject you do? Do you then have to do  adouble dgrew?

Since a double degree doesn’t equal exactly twice the amount of subjects that you do, it’s more of a mix and match between the courses with some from each.
It probably does affect your job but if you're just after a specialised course and set on it perhaps it might be worse to match with something that isn't relevant (from a direct job perspective) as much (unless you want to).

Thank you! Ok, I'm choosing my pereferences now, but I don't understand what this proxy business is. If I do designate a proxy, is that just for in case I can't receive an offer or anything? Like if I design a proxy does that mean that person will have to represent me or can I still represent myself?

Yes if you're overseas/ something preventing you to accept your offer, they will accept it for you.

The only thing here is that although you fill out the details of a proxy, not all institutions allow enrolment via a proxy.

So you'll be able to accept your offer online and if the institution requires you to be there for enrolment, then you'll have to do it some other time.

I think that should tell you whether it is successful or not, and if you don't have any of the requirements that will probably tell you this. But someone should probably confirm this.
Have you checked the FAQ for this?

When you pay for your VTAC application, does it get submitted? Can we still make changes or do we finalise our application before we pay?
Thanks in advance

you can still make changes whenever you want, but i am certain their is a specific date when you cannot change any of your preferences or rearrange them. I already paid my VTAC and i can change it whenever i want, it doesn't mean my VTAC is submitted. check the VTAC site they should have the deadline date.

sorry if i made a mistake, please correct me.  :)
