"The most important part of being at school is learning to fit in"

So our teacher just gave us this prompt and said write a paragraph on it. Just a bit stuck on how to get started, any ideas?

Thanks !

How do you feel when you don't fit in? (You being the generic term for people on general.)

How do you learn to do this?

What does "fitting in" mean? :)

Maybe you could start with an anecdote, a reflection or a flashback...

Try not "thinking" about it too much -- let your thoughts "flow".

Ahh thanks teacher28, also do we refer to our own personal experience for this prompt? Or do we use our text? Or do we just write some broad 'ideas' about the prompt?

Hmmm... "Write a paragraph on it" leaves it open.

What do you think your teacher would want you to do?

If I gave that instruction I would be looking for something witty, excruciatingly painfully honest, or complex in its insight. I would be expecting the student's true voice and I think that often comes from personal experience.

Someone famous once said "Write about what you know."

I would be even more impressed if what you wrote about somehow reflected the dilemma as your text presents it.
