help! i need to design a prac in investigating a trend in organic chemistry

so, the topic is pretty broad i need to design a chemistry prac which investigates a trend in organic chemistry.
it needs to be simple (be able to do in school lab) allow for sufficient data collection and able to control variables.

i was going to do oxidation of alcohols and time how long it takes before complete oxidation for 5 alcohols but my teacher said it wasnt a good idea, as i cant pin point when the ending is exactly.

any ideas what i could do?
