The "Will I get an interview/offer with this UMAT?" query for med and dent


Here are the stats from 2014 entry first-round interview or direct offers (approximate)
(TBC = to be confirmed)

MEDICINE
Monash: No UMAT cut as they use both ATAR and UMAT for interviews
Newcastle: TBC
UQ (prov): 91%ile
UTAS: 100%ile needed for interstate (no interview), Tasmainian cut TBC
UNSW*: No one UMAT cut-off as they use both the predicted (or actual ATAR for gap-years) and the UMAT
UADEL: ~96%ile for interstate applicants, ~94%ile for South Australians
JCU: does not use the UMAT, ATAR of 97+ advised along with strong written application
Griffith**: does not use UMAT, ATAR cut 99.60
UWS: 154.5 overall weighted in a 1:1:0.5 ratio for S1:S2:S3 respectively for non-GWS applicants
ANU (PhB/MBBS): does not use UMAT, 99+ ATAR only
USyd (MBBS guarantee): does not use UMAT, 99.95 ATAR only
UoM (MD guarantee): does not use UMAT, 99.90+ ATAR only
Flinders (pre-med and med pathway): uses ATAR (90%) and a UMAT-derived score (10% - only sections 1 and 2 are used) for admissions and the interview does not play a role in admissions, as only 25 places are offered best to get a high ATAR and UMAT

I got 187 :( :( :(

It sucks because it was so close for monash..

Monash: 195 overall (will probably decrease for this year)

Have a look at the percentiles as opposed to your scores. high 80's and low 90's means you are still well in contention for a bit of monash action.

WHY YOU NO HAS LATROBE DENT ON THERE

oh I guess cause of all the deferred kids its impossible to get in right?? Still gotta put it up there though

Not everyone took the offer so there will be around 5-10 spots for metro kids I think (this includes metro sydney, adelaide, brisbane etc)

I thought LaTrobe was only offering to rural kids due to the stuff up....
And what about Griffith Uni med and Dent, they don't require UMAT do they?

What does the vice-chanc scholarship even represent, it just says high ranking students? Does that mean atar or umat :S

I got 61-60-91 with total 212 (71 overall) and 99th percentile.

Could anyone comment on what my chances are for Adelaide and Flinders medicine?
My ATAR from last year was 99.70

I don't really feel like going interstate, but I'm still applying for Monash and the likes.
