Text Response Help

For a prompt like this:
’Twelve Angry Men is just about a dissenting juror who convinces the jury to change their verdict.’
To what extent is the verdict changed?

When dealing with two part prompts, how do i respond to it?
If i were to just write on how the verdicts were changed and through this I would discuss how Juror 8 convinces the jury to change their verdict... Would that be addressing both parts? Whenever I get a qoute, or a statement followed by a question I feel like I only ever answer the question part and don't incorporate the qoute/statement... Any tips?????/

You can agree/disagree with the prompt. You could also delve a bit deeper by saying that the 8th Juror not only persuades the jury to change their verdict, but he dispels the bias between jurors(3rd and 10th), as well as supports certain jurors that also have uncertainties to the details of the case (Ex, Juror 2 when he asks about the knife wound and it being overhanded ...) and helps the 9th juror when he gets told to "shut up" in front of the other members.
Incorporate the ideas of the quote, of the disagreeing juror-8th-but play on the words, "just only" where you can add other variables that allow the jurors to change their verdict (e.g.: pressure of conformity when putting up their hands-i think there are stage directions to support this...)

Just wondering...so in a text reponse we are not allowed to discuss both side of the topic. We have to agree or disagree?

No, you can do both and the best essays will provide arguments for multiple interpretations of a topic and compare them.

What if the prompt asks "Do you Agree?" Do we have to agree or disagree or can we provide both perspectives.

Provide your own opinion. Agree with the prompt but then explore it in more depth and show other variables to why something could be the case, but always stick to your contention. Don't fully agree/disagree wit the prompt, but show your own interpretation.
