100%ile

hey, i just got a 100%ile and was wondering some stuff
is it a little like a 99.95, in the way that it's a pretty guaranteed entry into monash? (i'm not trying to brag or sound cocky; just honestly want to know)
if not, will a mid-high 99s get me in as a pretty sure bet? how much does the interview matter in this sense?
also, how many people get 100%ile? because i know i wasn't the top, but 100%ile implies that i've beaten 100% of the state which doesn't sound right
thanks a lot :D

It's not guaranteed, but if you get mid-99s, you're a good chance. The interview matters as much as either the UMAT or the ATAR,so it means a lot. To take an example, a user on here got mid-99s and 100%ile and got a Bonded place, so take nothing for granted.

Maybe like 200 get 100%ile? It doesn't really matter haha, congrats on the score though :)

Sorry to intervene, but how on Earth did you get that score (if you don't mind me asking!)? Did you prepare for the UMAT, or is that just raw talent?  ;)

Neither 100th percentile UMAT nor 99.95 guarantees you entry to Monash. I know someone who got 99.95 and ended up taking a bonded spot at Monash and similarly I know people who got 100th percentile UMAT who didn't get an offer at all. All three components (ATAR, UMAT and interview) are important but I'd definitely say that the interview can make or break an application.

I think for Tasmania, 100% UMAT is guaranteed spot. So yeah, you can screw up your atar and still get into medicine.

You still need an ATAR above 95, but yeah :)
