'A correspondence or partial similarity'
An analogy is not the same as a juxtaposition; it identifies similarities between things that seem different.
I'd say it would convince the reader that a relationship is apparent between two things that seem to have no relationship OR to strengthen a view on someone or something.

For example: "He is like a rock. This means he is steadfast and strong."

By comparing the person to a rock, there are moral similarities as he is a strong individual; like a rock is strong.

another thing if a letter says "imagine a world where alcohol did not exest" what would you say about that ?

It's sort of an example of inclusive language, as the writer is trying to place you in the scenario.
