Study Score for Chem

Hey guys,

I'm averaging A+ for SACs. And for Unit 3 i got 68/75 (low A+, cut off 67.5)

If I get close to full marks on this exam, can i get a 45 study score? What's the best study score I can hope for? 47 or 48 since the ranges were small last time???

If you get high A+ SACs and near full marks, you probably will be able to.

haha, he'll be joining AN in a few years time :P

also, what do u reckon i can get max? cos i've heard that Unit 4 exams are weighted more than Unit 3 exams? if so, a very high A+ can lead to a 47maybe? what do u think? thx!

Both exams are weighted equally 33% each, with 34% for sacs.

Yeah, 45 would probs be the best you could get. Realistically, likely to be in the 43-44 range though as full marks aint easy to come by haha.

I was in a similar position last year. Pretty sure I aced the last exam and ended up with 42 after getting 0.5 marks above the A+ cut off for unit 3

oh :S
but this time around, the A+ cut off was 6 marks higher i think. so whilst u were like 10 marks off the best, i'm only 6 or 7?
and last year i got a mid unit 3 A+ and then got the lowest possible A+ for bio unit 4 and ended up with a 43 with average sacs. this year my sac marks are a lot better. so hopefully can pull off a 45...

But you've gotta realize that it still means that there was 10% of students ranked in front of you, and seeing as its your ranking which counts in the evaluation of study score, for all intents and purposes its the same thing. I tend to agree that you'll be looking at a max of 45, but keep in mind that it scales to 48 anyway...
