Language Analysis tips and tricks?

Hi guys,

So language analysis seems to be one of my weak spots in English. I can write an okay essay but nothing great. I wonder if anyone had any tips when planning/writing an analysis. Such as what questions do you ask yourself when trying to analyse. Or a particular structure that you follow.

Help is greatly appreciated :)

Check out my notes. Though my notes are overwhelming, if you're a newbie, all you need to learn is the nuts and bolts of language analysis (how to write body paragraphs)

To reduce the learning curve, you don't need to rote-memorise a bunch of techniques and routines. This is out-dated technology. The analogy I use is this:  Before we had cars we had carriages with horses. Does that mean before you learn how to drive a car, you should learn to operate a carriage? No.

These days all you have to do is say"emotive words such as "X" "Y" and "Z" brings to concern to 'stakeholders" and go from there. Study hard my dude!
