Heffernan 2012 Exam 1

For the second week of the holidays I did a practice exam for Methods under exam conditions, and for the first exam (the one with no calculator), I got about a score of 33/40. How is Heffernan in terms of complexity and how does that relate to a VCAA exam performance?

They are usually much easier than VCAA :) Look at the ones from previous years.

Ahhhk, they did seem pretty straightforward in what they wanted to ask. But I guess it's a good starting place :)

Which companies are the ones which make the hard exams?

Try Kilbaha and itute, they're pretty hard.

Yeah, previous year ones are easier, this year they make harder but still not as hard as iTute and Kil
Actually I don't like to do iTute because they are so hard :D and it makes me lose confidence
In some prac exam, they give questions with symbols and formula somewhere else, out of course. I even don't know what symbols in the ques mean, how can I do it?
Good companies include Heff, Mav, TSSM, Insight, Kil, Neap, Engage (imo though)
2012: Bio | Chem| Spesh | Methods | ESL | Vietnamese
2013-2016: BActuarial studies/BCommerce @ ANU

Completely disagree, they are quite close to VCAA and they actually quite closely resemble VCAA's difficulty. Another company which is quite good is MAV, who also are around VCAA standard.

Kilbaha are close to VCAA but difficult (i.e. they're an example of hard VCAA-style questions)

iTute is too far off what VCAA would give that it's not worth doing them, even now, I still can't do a full iTute paper and get 100%, so yeah, shows how unrealistic they are.

Once again, you people here are a gem of wisdom. Thank you all for the advice! :) I'll definitely be looking out for those exam companies!

I wouldn't 100% agree with that though. What I found last year was this, from easiest to hardest:
Insight<Hefferenan<TSSM<VCAA<NEAP<MAV<Kilbaha
Which is probably why I found that I got more out of doing NEAP and MAV, as they we're harder than VCAA<, but not too hard, still around the same level.

But that was just me, everyone is going to find it different, depending on the person.

I found VCAA easier than Heffernan or Insight, but maybe thats just because I did them after Heff/insight and well I did only (2009-2011). Maybe the others are harder.

Strangely enough, I score lower on TSSM and Insight exams than I do on Kilbaha ones. What is happening?
