Predictions for section D questions anyone?

I was thinking about these ones for zoology:

1) Why arthropods are successful
2) Evolution of vertebrates

I wanted to ask you that as well since you got it spot on last semester :P

Is there any other reasons than chitonous Exo-skeleton for the success of arthropods??

I mean there are diversification of appendages and segmentation but i don't see how diversity in it of itself can contribute to success?? Like Arthropods have varying number of legs but how does that help with success?

Lol it was my tutor last sem who inadvertently told us haha.

Good question. Well I suppose you could talk about the sensory structures, nervous system and that some have flight also.

Also perhaps for the plant section:

•   What are the evolutionary steps that led to the development of land plants and most recently angiosperms? (Maybe the adaptations that were required for land plants to evolve?)
2012-2014. BSc: Neuroscience. University of Melbourne.
2015-2018. Doctor of Optometry. University of Melbourne.

Unlikely to respond to any PMs these days.

Damn i forgot about the wings, sensory structures etc :( so depressed now :/

I have a feeling something about angiosperms will be on section D.....

I really hope angiosperms are on section D.

That, or general differences in protista.

If a gene locus has 4 alleles the number of different genotypes possible at the locus is ??

That is Question 30 on sample exam. I got 6 but the answer is 10. How would you work it out?

^ Yeah I was like what he shit, too...
Can someone link me to it when it's discovered?

Also, I think I actually have a shot at passing chemistry this semester. I heard from two completely unrelated friends that 65% of students fail the exam (the exam, not the subject). Is there any way I can check this?

If you go to page 5 on the discussion board, someone's posted it under "practice exam"

The answer to that is 10.
Redo the question, you might see that you forgot something that is relatively easy to miss.

Thanks i get it now.. It's kind of a stupid/pointless questions -.-

Anyway i hope Section D for biodiversity will be about Allee effect etc things that didn't have to be rote learnt.

If it is on regurgitating class/phyla names then i am done for...

Knowing how many pairs of legs and antennae there are across different classes of arthropods doesn't teach you shit! Might as well rename the exam a "memory test" lol

+ I need to look over plants/ protists again to refresh my memory (esp. for section D), and do some genetics problems too ahh.
