Can I still get a 50 in further if:
- 39/40 for multi choice
- 60/60 for SA?
- rank 20 in large + strong cohort (95/100 sacs)

Thanks.

Most likely nope ( :( lost 1 mark in exam 1 aswell) and considering your rank, it really depends on how well the students ranked above you did in the exams (you are looking at 100% sac moderation, which is unlikely)

Generally its 40/40 and 59/60 for a chance to get a 50 + rank 1

Though with the score of 39/40 and 60/60 a 49 is a really high possibility (again, this may change by the performance of your cohort, especially those ranked above you)

I’d agree but considering his 95/100 puts him at such a low rank i’m guessing either he has a crazy strong cohort or SACs set were too easy. The Rank for 50 really comes down to cohort strength. Last year at my school our rank 1 only got a 48 yet 3 people below them got a 50 and another person got a 49. One of the 50s was a person I’ve personally talked to who said they averaged roughly 90% all year and were nowhere near the top 5 ranks.
What I suspect is when a cohort does well enough such that the top 10-15 ranks get close to or completely ace the exam, all of those students have their SACs moderated to near 100. Therefore, essentially all those students had an opportunity for a 50 despite not being rank 1.

So coming back to Popcorn’s question, I’d say they have a shot if the 20 student above them can come close to acing the exams. Otherwise it seems unlikely.

Further maths:
37/40 exam 1 - stupid mistakes but the exam was harder than expected
60/60 exam 2

I’m rank 1 with a 100% sac average

I’m hoping to get a 48-49 is this possible?

47-48 is possible but imo but 49 may be a stretch. Often 49 means a maximum of 1-2 Marks lost across both exams.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could give me a rough estimate of how many marks I should be aiming to get above in exam 2 for further for a 40+, or is there no chance of that?
I am probably ranked in the top 10ish out of about 120 and I scored 37/40 on exam one (all simple errors as usual :-\).
Thank you!

Hey Galaxy,
I’m going to assume your SACs scale to 90% as you have an excellent rank.
Given this and your exam 1 score is estimate you need to get around 50 -53 marks for a bare minimum of 40.

49-50 if you get 60/60

46-48 if you get 58/60

Well done on your SAC and Exam 1 scores, they're excellent.
Good luck for tomorrow!

Hey,
Don't stress about what's over and done with. Remember that your performance relies on that of the rest of the state as well. You might be letting your percieved negative outcome cloud the true potential of your writing. Your scores look okay. Based on what you've told me, it looks like you could get mid- to high thirties.

Hi msminzy,
A bit difficult to tell because this also relies on the rest of the state's performance, but looking at your scores the guess would be between a 46 and 48 SS.

Hey guys due to harsh markers I got
Biology
70/100 for unit 3 (Rank 1 in a 40 student cohort)
63/90 for unit 4 (Rank 1 in a 40 student cohort)
And approximately 108/120 in the exam (mid A+)
What does my bio study score look like?

Interesting, I would have expected higher. Do you know if you were Rank 1?
