Hey everyone!

I have an average SAC score of 79% and am placed roughly in the top 30% (optimistic guess) of my cohort (I think??)
I've gotten around 64/80 for my practice Exam 2s.
What would happen if I choked on exam 1 and only scored 27/40?

Thanks!

I don't really go on here anymore. Feel free to DM though

I have no idea about the UCAT percentile required to get an interview/accepted into medicine. Mine was the first year that they used the UCAT. Just try and maximise your ATAR and take care of yourself.

For Biology:
U3: 95/100
U4: 84/90
Below average cohort, SACs will scale down. I don't know what my rank is, but I believe it would be top 5 out of 50.
Worst:
Exam: 70%
Best:
Exam: 82%
2020: VCE 93.2

Hey guys, for Further Mathematics I am rank 5 in a semi decent cohort. I think there may be a few people scoring in the 40s and that's about it.
I got 37/40 in exam 1 and got 60/60 in exam 2, knowing I dropped no marks for it. What would my study score roughly be?

Do you know what you got for your coursework other than Exam 1&2?

I was rank 5 in an average cohort that would most likely only have a 4-5 people scoring 40+ss. SAC marks don't matter, but I got 90% average

Probably mid 40s, whereabouts in the mid 40s would depend on how your cohort did and what the grade distribution is like this year.

For Biology:
U3: 95/100
U4: 84/90

Worst:
Exam: 70%
Best:
Exam: 82%
Last year about 73% on the exam was a 37 and 82% was low 40s. Given you're expecting your sacs to scale down, I don't see much point using them for a prediction. If your sacs end up at a lower percentile than your exam, your ss will be slightly lower than the above, if they end up at a higher percentile, your ss will be slightly higher. Also likely that cutoffs will go up a little which means the study scores associated with those % will go down a little.

Math Methods: 28% on a unit 3 sac, 48% and 65% (average of 2 sacs on the same topic) on unit 4 sacs, and at least a 40% on exam 1. 20-ish people in my maths class, lowest ranked, everyone else is likely averaging 70% at the very least. What would I need for exam 2 for a 25 study score?

26-28

Probably ~35%+ on Exam 2 for a 25+

Don't take my word for it though. It's a prediction only

To get a 25, you need to be in the top 78% of students. This is about equivalent to getting at least a C.
Using last years grade distribution, a 40% would put you near the top end of a C. Also using last years grade distribution, anything above 51/160 would give you at least a C. You should probably aim a little higher than that to account for possible changes to the grade distribution though. Your SACs will likely end up at the same percentile as your exams for the same reason rank 1s do, so don't worry about that part too much.

Jerome beat me to it but will leave this here anyway.

maths methods

probably rank 6-7 ish for a moderate cohort. my SAC score was 81%, but am pretty sure this will go up as our SACs were hard.

GA2: 70%
GA3: hopefully 75% or higher

can I get an above 35? maybe even above 37?

36-38 depending on cohort.

Just remember that when you say your sacs are hard, VCAA can only judge how difficult they are depending on how your cohort performs on the exam. The fact that you got higher on your SACS than your exam suggests that your SACS aren't that hard at all.

Also, if you did so well on your SACs why not aim higher for Exam 2 :)

yeah......I panicked big time for Exam 1 - I honestly had the potential to do so much better, like I couldve easily got an 80 at least.

Hopefully I can pull through and do better tomorrow :)

Thanks so so much!!
