Yo got a C+ on my first Chem SAC and probably ranked around 225/275 or something however our cohort is very strong and Sacs usually get scaled up. Is it possible for me to get a 40+ study score and what Sac/exam marks would I need?

Also got an A for my first Psych SAC and probably ranked around 45-50/120 or so although our cohort is very strong and median usually is around 40 for Psych. Would it be possible for me to get a 45+ study score and what Sac/exam marks would I need?

Thx

I would say both are possible but you are probably in a better position in psychology for your aims.

For both subjects you still need to improve your rank before the end of unit 3 and get a higher rank for unit 4. Having a strong cohort might not help you as much as you think. Especially if you are in the bottom quartile.

Also you would want to be scoring at least an A+ for the chemistry exam and a mid-high A+ for psychology.

Depends on your cohort strength, but I think you would still need to improve your ranking even it was a "strong cohort".
For the exam you would be aiming for anything in the range of 50+/60 for a 45.

Given sacs in english are 50% if you score really well on sacs (i.e.perfect scaled sacs) you can get away with that a 50/60 but if your sacs are in the lower range obviously you will need a higher exam score.

Hey everyone

I'm aiming for a 30+ in chem and I am in a pretty average cohort (perhaps even a little below average). There are only 2 students that I know of who are in the 40+ range. What ranking do I need to be in the safe zone of 30+ and what exam mark do I need? :))

What exam score would I be looking at to get around a 47 in methods if my SACs scaled to a percentage in the mid-90s (93-96%)?

Depends on the year but roughly 113-117/120. Most years 116/120 is fine.
These are kind of based on 100/100 sacs so potentially 0.5-1 marks higher but not too sure.

I'm pretty new to this so if I posted wrong correct me please. If I am rank in the middle of my cohort there is 12 people and I achieved 80% in the first sac and the highest was 94 and the people on top of me got 84 and 88. If these are our sac marks at the end of the year, can I get 45

Would depend on the strength of your cohort. If you believe that the three people above you can score 45+ exam scores then it is very possible. If that does not happen you would need a higher exam score than what would normally yield a 45 and a bit of luck.

hey Sine, what kind of sac marks/ranking would you estimate for me to have a fair chance of a 45?

I don't know the strength of your cohort but 45 is a very high study score so in any cohort you want to be right up there in the top "group". In weaker cohorts this group may be 1 student (so you would need to be around rank 1) but In a strong cohort that might be 15 students so being in the top 15 would be fine.

You could still score 45+ from lower rankings but lower sac rankings make it so much harder since you would need something like a English exam score which correlates to a 49-50 study score to yield a 45.

If I am ranked last in my cohort (or very low), and people do well in my class (30+) can I still get a 30+ as well if I do good in the exam

No way of exactly knowing what your average should be. Depending on your SAC difficulty your 60% might be on track for a 45 or could be well below. The only real certainty imo is your exam score needs to be within the realms of a 45. At the top end it becomes harder to rely on sac scores and cohort strength and you need to pull your own performances.

If I am ranked last in my cohort (or very low), and people do well in my class (30+) can I still get a 30+ as well if I do good in the exam
If everyone in your cohort scores 30+ and you are ranked last in your cohort you will need an average exam score to score about a 30 so it would be very possible.

Hey guys I need some help because I am really eager to get a view of my study score. So far my cohort is ranked average, last year we had around a couple of people score 40+ in economics. So I was wondering what sac marks and grades so I need to get a final study score of over 40, I don't mind raw or scaled as long as the final score is 40 or above. Currently I am not too sure of my ranking because the teacher never says it. So what marks will I need for my dream study score?
