Not sure how to predict my physics and eng lang scores... someone help?

Physics
Cohort: Strongest in state for the last few years according to my teacher.
Rank: Not sure.
GA1: 86/100
GA2: 90/100
GA3: 140/150

English Language
Cohort: Strong (in the top 10 of state)
Rank: 3 (in about a cohort of 19)
GA1: 90%
GA2: 85%
GA3: 69/75

EDIT: Added my rank and cohort info.

I'm not sure where your teacher got the strongest in the state label from, where do you go to? :)

https://www.quppa.net/studyscores/browse/2014/Grouped%20by%20Subject%20and%20School/Score%20Counts%20Sorted%20by%20Highest%20Scores/Physics.html

Edit: apologies for not contributing anything of substance, i don't know much about the subjects above
Unless you go to MHS, which is probably the strongest physics cohort, but they have the strongest cohort in basically every asian 5 subject (and i'm pretty sure there's more than 19 kids in the MHS eng lang cohort) :)

No idea how teachers get their info, but I suspect they have a legit way...
Did a bit of googling myself and came across this: https://bettereducation.com.au/results/vceTopInSubjects.aspx
Use the drop down box to select the subject and it tells you how school's faired over the last few years.

For GA2 it should be out of 40, it's the result of exam 1 xD
And when you say GA1 = 81/100, is that our average throughout the year or is the size of the sacs included?

Oh crap, my bad...
GA1 is the average for the whole year (81/100)
GA2: 35/40
GA3: 72/80

Is that better?

No, I was being serious about the average thing. Because different sacs weigh differently (theres usually a big one and some small ones), and Im curious as to whether when we put our GA1 on here, do we put the simple average or are we meant to calculate the weighted score? If you don't know, ill just wait for hamo94 to enlighten me xD

36-37 in the first case. 35 in second case.

Could you please tell me what a mid and high A+ is in terms of actually score like ?/110.
Don't worry about scores that you can't change  because there are so many more productive things you could do

Use the drop down box to select the subject and it tells you how school's faired over the last few years.

That website suggests Melbourne High, but I still struggle to see how they have less than 20 students in an Eng Lang cohort when i'm pretty sure they have 40-50 at the minimum every year.

Oh crap, my bad...

Yes. Having your rank would be even better though. I'm going to assume MHS for the sake of discussion and 81 scales to 95.
That gets you 41-43.

Divide your sac scores and calculate in terms of their percentage. I.e if a SAC is worth 10% of your overall SAC mark, make that 8.7/10 or something for 87% on that SAC.
Add it all together and you get something out of 100. That's your Pre-scaling score.

I'm not sure where your teacher got the strongest in the state label from, where do you go to? :)

Regarding those links you posted, my school is ranked between 19-21 according to those rankings, would this mean my SACs would get scaled up for physics?

It just means that your Scaling will be good from 40+ onwards. That means, say you have 10 students who get 40+, then the scaling will be nice if you're in the top 10.
Outside of that, no one really knows :)

Edit: That ranking page is pretty poor in a lot of instances outside the top schools, because it's under the assumption of highest scores > many 40+ scores.

I.e Rowville Secondary > Glen Waverley because they had a 50 student (creds to mod zealous) and GWS didn't have a 50 but 20 40+ scores. Can't really compare on that front.

I still find the link quite inaccurate though because they don't take into account percentages and the people that didn't publish (not that they can anyway).

Like I know the median for English at Macrob is 41-43 every year and that the lowest students typically get is 35 ( according to the teachers), yet is only ranked 20th.
