With 15 days to the english exam, I'm just practising as effectively as I can. I considered writing a short story for the exam but I thought I need to set it up beforehand. Having read relevant stories from growing up asians in australia, can I set a character in America whose granddad was an airborne soldier during ww2, and talk about the tensions between his granddad's world and his? something like discipline, traditions etc

Sounds pretty good to me. Might want to slip in some conflicting cultures in there to make it blatant. This piece would lend itself well to be written in the same style as the Water Buffalo.
