Depends on the prompt. I have a list and I'm not going to say them all because it took me a while to figure it all out and I'm not going to just give them away easily. Some good ones could be the McCarthy era, asylum seekers, Mandala, Middle east crisis or crusades.

Okay cool. Thanks  :)
Also, are you trying to go into the exam with a pre-prepared piece in mind or will you just write whatever comes to mind when you see the prompt?

I have 6 or so 'topics' or 'events' that I usually write about so I'm just going to go into the exam and work with whatever prompt we are given. My teacher knows my writing fairly well and has advised against remembering essays/paragraphs. Even the assessors report agrees. Although, there are some individuals who have done that and scored well.

Yeh, same here. I am going to try and incorporate the text, another novel, real world example(s) and a significant figure in history...or something along those lines...hopefully:)
What are you aiming for for English (study score wise)?

Sounds good! I'm going para 1:text, para 2: real world, para 3: real world and it has been working so far. I wanted to incorporate another text but couldn't be bothered changing my style.

I'm not sure. I was hoping for a 40+ but I'm not sure an average of 80% will get me there. I think I'll be happy with 37+. What about yourself?

Oh okay...that's sounds good too. I think if you do well enough on the exam you can 40+ for sure, as 80% isn't that bad. For myself, I guess I am aiming for anywhere between 35-40. It really all comes down to the exam and how well I go on that as to what my score will be; which i am sure is the case for everyone else in the state! All I hope for is that the prompts are reasonable and can work well with my texts, otherwise I will be thrown into a state of panic :) Which I don't want by the way..

I guess but 80% exactly is 48/60 which I don't really want to get (anything over 50 would be perfect) but you are totally right, it really is up to the exam! I'm very nervous for the context prompt.. what if it is something like "how does conflict shape a nation" I would cry.  :-X What text are you doing for section A?

I would be so stuck with a prompt like that! Although I'm hoping to work on challenging ones like that before the exam. Oooh. I'm doing Cosi and The Crucible.  8)

i know this is totally random, but i'm wondering, what are the chances of getting a compromise and bystander prompt this year?
they were the past two year's conflict prompts...
