What approximate time period are exams at Uni?

Just wondering in case I end up booking holidays, (or most likely attending PAX 2013) in advance. DOn't want to put money down then find out I'll most likely be putting my nose to the grindstone.

I'm assuming most exam periods are the same across all unis? But next year I hope to be at Melbourne or RMIT if that helps.

I believe unis are in semesters? Any indication would be a great help.

Semester 1: June

Semester 2: November

Exams are typically held throughout these months. If you do a google search on say "RMIT academic calendar 2013" you can find the exact dates (unis usually publish this info a year in advance). e.g. http://www.rmit.edu.au/browse;ID=616oouz5x3n71

Next year they are planned/propsed to be (may change)
Semester 1.
Monash: 10-28 June
UoM: 11-28 June
RMIT: 10-28 June

Semester 2.
Monash: 4 - 22 Nov
UoM: 4 - 22 Nov
RMIT: 28 Oct - 15 Nov

With that being said, it may vary year to year, and you might not always have an exam in the first or last week.

My brother goes to Deakin, and Deakin uses the trimester system instead of the semester system.

Typically exams are held in June and October.
