Hey guys,

Simple question, but I'm not sure.

Which course do you think is better? Both have similar entry requirements right? Can I proceed to do post grad med after GAMSAT from both?

Thanks :)

I am assuming you're not going to consider biomed at unimelb ?

Anyway, with melbsci, you get a lot of flexibility with subjects and stuff, so thats definitely a +1.
And melb sci requires 78 with seas !!!!(check melbourne access scheme for more info), and without seas, it requires about 90ish
And yes, melb sci is a pathway to graduate medicine :) you can do all your med prereqs too

Both can satisfy prereqs for UoM.
Monash biomed is a lot more prescriptive, they have a lot of core subjects as opposed to UoM (monash does this for some weird reason)

They will both prepare you well for postgrad medicine, assuming you take a relevant major

Both can get you into MD.

Personally, Melb Sci of the two is the better bet. From what I am hearing from friends and others in Biomed (at both UoM and Monash),  the course is VERY competitive, even more than yr12 at times. Personally I wouldn't like to be in that sort of environment for 3 years.

+ Science leaves you with more job opportunites and pathways (eg. Master of Eng, etc.) that I don't think are available with Biomed.

I second BSc.

As mentioned above, Monash biomed is quite restrictive, even as far as biomed curricula go. Flexibility is very important.
