Hey again!, Whenever I am writing my essay I find it difficult to put in quotes that are relevant to the questions and to what I am explaining in my paragraph. I don't know how i could find myself to add in quotes so if you guys can help with any tips or advice to help with putting in quotes

My impression is that you either have an insufficient amount to use or you get stuck on when to use the qutoe in the appropriate instance. in the first case, I have nothing for you other than to try and memorise as many as you can. In the second scenario, what you can do, and it does help me, is to list the quote after the example that you've provided, making it as a means to finish of your sentence not to start a new one. Usually, providing ideas within a paragraph can easily lead to remembering a particular quote and adapting it in advance of that idea. Once that's done you will go on to explain and justify you idea.

Using quotes in the appropriate instance is the problem here. It feels like when I am discussing ideas no one of them directly link to a quote so it feels inappropriate to just chuck in a quote for the sake of it. :(

I try to make a point, like, Lewis didn't really understand love, as highlighted when he states 'free love is a hard to define'... using a quote to back up my point.

Other times, I use quotes when explaining bits of the plot. Say I'm talking about Lewis changing. I will mention what he was originally like Lewis initially stated that he was directing 'Cosi Fan Tutte' because he 'needed the money' and I will chuck the quote in to show that my ideas have come from the play and not just nowhere.

When adding quotes, does it have to be from the character that it originated from and in where you are discussing that character or can it be included to any character except from that character it originated from but the quote refers and does make a link with what you are discussing. ?????

Can you show me an example of that?

I think I get what you are talking about though. Sometimes I use character quotes when I'm talking about themes/authors contention even when I'm not talking about the characters as much.

Does the Roy quote talk about Jerry? Or does it have nothing to do with him?

It does somewhat, but I'm talking about quotes that have nothing to do with them

I wouldn't go there then, to be honest. It might make it look like you don't know your text well and you have to apply the quotes so they support what you are talking about.

I recall the fact that i incorporated one or two quotes that are said by one which can be linked to another character when i tackled Cosi in term two. My teacher doesn't have a problem with that I don't think, as long as it flows and links to the discussion at hand.

I'd do that only if you're stuck. The examiner probably didn't super-closely studied your text. Therefore he probably won't realise, especially with the speed they are marking.

Not necessarily - examiners know the texts they're marking essays for inside out, and after marking hundreds and thousands of essays year after year, they'll definitely know if a student has misquoted. :)
