I have it like this

Strategical (long term) Planning, 3-5 years, generally made by board of directors, CEO's and/or High management
Operational (Medium term) planning, 1-3 years, generally made by department managers
Tactical (short term) planning - Weekly/Monthly/Yearly etc - made by supervisors

Check Shinny's notes he made a great table which pretty much  has that ^ in more detail

Edit: I've just looked at my notes and noticed that i also have tactical/operation in both sections
One from my text book and one from shinny's notes

Need confirmation!

I believe I raised this question in class.

The two books refer to the three as either:
Strategic - Tactical - Operational
OR
Strategic - Operational - Frontline

According to my teacher, so long as you provide the correct associated definition, the title of the planning (whether you use option 1 or 2) is practically irrelevant.

I have, however, always gone by:
Strategic: 3-5 years, carried out by CEOs/upper management, long term planning and where the business intends to be - eg: greater market share/expansion
Tactical: 1-2 years, upper managers, middle term planning, intends to place the organisation in a position to achieve their long term goals - eg: upgrade equipment
Operational: Day to day planning, frontline managers (supervisors); eg: ensuring work is being done to necessary quality standards

When I discuss planning, I always relate it to my part time job (at Target lol).

Strategic (time frame: 2+ years): Carried out by top tier management, e.g. CEO and Board of Directors.

Tactical (time frame: 1 - 2 years): Carried out by middle management, e.g. District and Store Managers of Target

Operational (time frame: less than one year, typically daily/monthly): Carried out by supervisors and team leaders.
