Yeah it is. The first year of the current study design was last year, so it's still in the same study design.

(take a look at the stickied threads too, some more stuff can be found there)

Even then, the old and new study designs are like 75 - 80% the same anyways.

EDIT: That's for SD, not sure about Apps, Laseredd would know :P

Yeah a lot of the Apps content is quite similar. Exam-wise anyway, the past VCAA exams are definitely still relevant if you exclude some stuff here and there.

There's some fairly major changes in terms of structure (the order of the area of studies) and a few different things (e.g. the RDBMS or Spreadsheet option you get, extended response questions) that have changed though.

I would actually advise doing the old VCAA exams anyways, given that there's a shortage of exam papers for both the IT subjects, I did exams all the way back to like 2002 or 2003 for Software Development and even though it was an old study design, I could tell which questions were relevant and which were not.

It's not so much just about exam technique and practicing, but it's also about learning and doing a lot of exam papers, especially for a theoretical subject such as IT, will help you learn the theory and how to structure your answers much better than learning by rote.
