I thought you needed 24/40 to get at least 40? You got 42? Nice.

Hahaha, that's defs not true :P That's assuming that your SACs would be around the same level.

I had very good SACs, in fact they were higher than many 45+ friends I had - 97/100 for U3 and 100/100 for U4 (after moderation).

ABC
If I do A last, I will run out of time and A costs most

I was under the impression that each section was equally weighted...?

I dont know for Eng but for ESL, A-40, B-30, C-30
I did CBA, CAB for prac exams but didnt finish section A as the way I like
ABC works best for me
Anyway, if all of you wanna do C first, go for it.

I did ABC for trial, but it still doesn't turn out well, lol
Anyway, I scored best for C for trial, need to turn that around in tomorrow!

To be honest, I think that doing Section C first will be the most efficient way. You won't have to re-read the article again, you can just jump straight into the thick of it right after reading time. This is as opposed to doing text response/context first, then looking at the article again, which may cost you some valuable time.

CBA. C and B are my strongest, so I want to make sure I don't run short of time and lose marks on them. A i'm not to bad with but if I rush I figure I won't be losing out on too much.

My advice is to do section C first. Because in the reading time you would have spent at least 10 mins reading the article and generally thinking about the contention and everything, so when writing starts you could just jump straight into writing the piece.

Doesnt really matter which order you do the other 2 but I would suggest doing the most comfortable essay last.

ABC worked well for me last year. You want to dump all those quotes you memorised for R&R on the page in the first two mins. Use reading time to choose a prompt and think of your arguments/structure.

I like to leave C until last since it's mostly formulaic and it takes the least amount of time. If you look at the clock and realise there's only 30 mins left, you can still whip up a decent language analysis piece. The same cannot be said for R&R, which is why I like to allocate a nice hour for it at the beginning.

I always found section B the toughest and it's good to attempt it second. After you finish your R&R piece you have a boost of confidence + you're warmed up. As you're completing section B you feel good knowing that language analysis will be a piece of cake to finish with.

No you can't, I've always been reasonably good at LA, got 5/10 on the exam because I did it in 30 mins :(

CBA, though if prac exam told me anything, I should spend 5-10 min less on both C and B, only had 40 mins to finish section A, but luckily adrenaline kicked in and I managed to do it haha.

:( damn, maybe I got lucky in that case. Personally though I always struggled with the first two sections on the exam and I liked to get them out of the way first.

Anyway best of luck to all candidates tomorrow! On a side note to the class of '11, I find it absolutely incredible that (almost) a year has already passed since we had to sit the English exam.
