NAD/NADH

When using these terms in an exam, should I use NAD/NADH or NADP/NADPH?

The question is basically, should I include the 'P'? I've seen it written without the 'P', but our teacher has taught it to us using the 'P'. So yeah I don't know which one to use, and whether one is more accepted than the other.
Thanks.

P in photosynthesis, and without P in respiration.
