Ok, since when can a function that is defined by an x (e.g. f(x)) not have an x in it?
Some mcq asked you to find f(x) as a function. They gave you a few hints, and I deduced that the two of the most likely possibilities were f(x)=e^x and f(x)=1. The one that fit with all the given hints was f(x)=1, but I straight away crossed it out as I thought that since the function is defined by an x (f of x) then it had to have an x in it, so I went with e^x and got it wrong  :'(

Anyone care to explain this witchery?

f(x) = 1 -> f(x) = 1x^0 so it is a function of x
PhD @ MIT (Economics).
