What do I need to get on the exam to get 40?

Here is what I've gotten from my Sacs:

Views and Values 35/40
Adaptations and Transformations 39/40
Considering Alternative Perspectives 20/20
Creative Response 60/60
Close Analysis 40/40

I'm pretty sure I'm ranked first, if that helps. :/
Please and Thank you.

Wow, you've done so well!! You're bound to get a 40+.
As for exam score, I'm really no expert, but going by intuition perhaps a 17? I could be completely wrong. In any case, judging by your close analysis SAC result, you'll get more than that. Good luck for tomorrow! :)

If you can get around the A+ cutoff (maybe a bit higher depending on what the highest exam score in your cohort is), you should get a 40! Aim for at least an 18/20 to get 40 at a minimum, though an 18 could end up getting you as high as 44.

Good luck! I'm so excited and even a little bit jealous of you guys :P Kinda wish I was doing Lit this year.

Oh wow, I'm hoping for at least an 18/17 for one of them. The problem is timing because I can write when given the time, but in only one hour, I think I might have difficulty. :/

If that's the case just focus on writing a really high quality essay that's between 800-1000 words. This could get you as high as 20, so it could definitely get you an 18 or 17. Just make sure your ideas are always well organised.

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully I don't blank out during the exam. :D

Dude, obviously one. haha. Chances are, I'm going to be getting 16-18 on the first, and 15-16 on the second. I know I'm better at the first, but The Tempest, second text, is frustrating. -.-
I have no clue what that'd though. Hopefully somewhere about 35. That's my benchmark.

I was referring to Chemderp's comment about aiming for an 18 to get a 40 aha. and oh really? I'm pretty comfortable with the Tempest, but not so much Chekhov..haha, oh well, goodluck!

You don't know that it will turn out like that! I was definitely better at A Passage to India last year but ended up getting 15.5 for that one and 19.5 for the DH Lawrence short stories. In some cases being less adept at a text allows you to be more creative with your ideas and you're less devoted to certain interpretations. I've always felt like Lit is more about your analytical skills than it is about your knowledge of the text, persay.

And probably an 18 on both to get a 40, though I don't really know. Remember each of your essays is marked by two examiners so you get an overall score out of 80. I got a 39 with a 70/80 with A+ SACs.

Thank you! That clarified it a lot. I didn't understand the marks out of 80 to begin with. Well, hopefully I end up demonstrating my analytical abilities, because it'd be a shame to get a bad mark, just because of time constraints. But I guess that's what distinguishes the A+ and As from the Bs. :/

Sorry, are you saying that if you get 100% on three of your SACs, and get an A+ on the exam, the best you could reasonably hope for is a 44?
Is it actually possible to earn a 50 in Lit?  :-\

What? No, of course not :P It depends how high that A+ is. I got 100% on 3 of my SACs and a 70/80 on the exam and got a 39. If I'd gotten high 70s on the exam I would have come close to a 50.
