Does anyone know about MyLiveTribe?

Yes. I got a letter sent from them about 93 days after I got my P's and it said that I can only sign up during my first 100 days of getting my P's, so I just thought stuff it, it's too late.
But someone in my school went and she said that you mostly just sit in a circle with other 18 year olds and talk about what it feels like to drive, how confident you are and what your experience has been like so far.

Yuuup, I did it as well. Its idk, I did it coz I thought its a good initiative, but I find they can be kinda unrealistic. Their aims are good and I can see how it would help people, but some of the things they tried to teach us were not applicable in reality. You do a practical session where you drive your car with the instructor and you try applying this thing called 'The Bubble.' What it essentially is, is trying to apply the 3 second gap rule. And they tell you that if you are driving at 50 km p/h, you should leave a gap for 50 METRES between your car and the one infront of you AND the one behind you....yeah the fuck....Actually I cant even remember if it was 50m or 100m, but it was something totally unrealistic on the road.

During the group sessions you talk about factors that cause road accidents and way to avoid them, it really gets you thinking about your own driving habits and how you could be a hazard to other people on the road and how you can avoid such hazards. You have to do surveys online and they send you rewards for doing them like bowling tickets and gift cards.

You should always headcheck when you change lanes or make a left hand turn, they're called blind spots for a reason.
Your mirrors aren't enough and it only takes one time of thinking the car you overtook is way behind you.

Nb, as a PSA to l platers, please drive faster than 35 in a 50 zone, tia
I use blind spot mirrors like Paul and honestly I've tried doing headchecks but they do nothing for me.

In the end though, the thing with driving is being aware and being careful, you can be the most technically able driver in the world, but if you're not aware and careful, you will still crash.

On the road, as long as you're not stupid, you should be OK, it's pretty hard to crash when you have a good view around you, keep a safe distance from the car in front and don't attempt to run red lights...etc.

It's generally in places where it's harder to see or be observant where accidents occur - most notably tight places like markets, carparks...etc. you're not gonna kill yourself if you hit another car in a carpark at 5 - 10km/h but just from experience, I've scratched my car on posts and have honked at drivers doing ridiculous things (like reversing out of a parking space when I'm coming straight at them) + being honked at myself, multiple times. It's probably the place where you're most likely to dint your car.

If you use blind spot mirrors then you can already see them (I don't like them, I find they trip me out too much).

Headchecks are basically essential if you want to make left turns and don't want to kill cyclists etc.

A lot of them go from the left of the lane, right into the middle of the lane with no warning.. Yes, technically they own the whole lane, but it's common courtesy to at least warn the 1.8 ton SUV right behind you.

A lot of cyclists can't seem to grasp the fact that, if they try and act like a hero on the road. Yes, they may win the fine, they may seek compensation and win. But the bottom line is, my car will have a scratch or two, and you will end up mangled and possibly even dead.

I'm curious as to how many people are learning on manual/automatic cars, and sitting for their P's in a automatic or manual car.
