What's a straight forward definition of ESM? Preferably a definition that would be in response to a two mark question. Cheers.

Social responsibility refers to decision making that doesn’t just consider financial results, but also considers the impact on the community and environment.
Business ethics referes to knowing what is right and wrong in the workplace and doing what’s right to create positive relationships with stakeholders.

By the way, past vcaa assessment reports suggests that equal opportunity is not an ethical issue because it is required by the law. So mentioning equal opportunity as an ethical issue will get you no marks. (I'll try get the exact quote on this because in previous sac I've mentioned equal opportunity and been given top marks)

Something you could mention for business ethics is providing departure packages to redundant staff. This is not required by law, but is an ethical decision because it aims to promote positive relations with stakeholders.

Ethical and Social Responsibility Management?

ESM refers to undertaking acts that are morally correct, and does not impact on the local community in a detrimental way. This could include the efficient management of resources such as raw materials, providing employees with safe working conditions, and the efficient management of waste.
