Games over the Summer (PC), recommendations?

Among other things I plan to do on the holidays, I hope to get some gaming in.

Here's my "plan":
- Learn and play LoL
- Finish Batman: Arkham City
- Finish Borderlands 2

Might play Prototype 2 as well, but I tried it out yesterday and it wasn't too great. I've finished (well done the main storyline and about half of the other stuff) of Skyrim too, and got veteran done on MW3. Might also try out Amnesia.

Any other recommendations?
Dishonored?
Black Ops 2?

N.B. Not a huge MMO fan, and I want to lean LoL before I play DOTA. Also not a massive FIFA fan (I do play FIFA 12 occasionally though). No Runescape/MapleStory/etc please.

Definitely play LoL, it is the best game around and everyone plays it. Also get your hands on Resident Evil 6, Diablo 3 (Might not like it) and Starcraft II.

Why would you willingly play LoL or DOTA?

Hitman Absolution, XCOM Enemy Unknown, Guild Wars 2, Minecraft, AssCreed 3 and FarCry 3 are the ones I'll play this summer. Probably about half a dozen hours each for the first couple, AC3 might take a bit longer.

What's wrong with LoL? It's a very enjoyable game and it's F2P. I agree that the other games you mentioned are good except for XCOM which I don't know too much about, I think I saw it on Steam though. There is also a game on Steam called Puddle: Dive into liquid physics, I think you might enjoy that one especially.

It's fundamentally based on DOTA mechanics and thus suffers from all the same flaws. I tried it, cannot stand it. It's anti-fun (bad learning curve, bad community, if your team is bad you are screwed and will spend half an hour not having fun, in a match you cannot leave)

If you like it, great, but I really wouldn't recommend it to anyone

Amnesia made me dizzy. It's very... wobbly, and a bit hard to control since you're playing as someone who's sick or drugged or insane or something like that >_<

TF2! It's free as well

You seem to like single player action-y type games.

Try Assassins Creed, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Saints Row III, etc.

Have a browse through steam maybe and check out the reviews on metacritic(http://www.metacritic.com/).

If strat is your thing, civilization will ensure you just will stop sleeping (just one more turn..)

LEAGUE OF LEGENDSSSSSSSSSSS NEW SEASON ~~~~~?!!?

It's really not that bad if you play with your friends or people you know are good in a premade game.

Don't really get why you want to play LoL before Dota. They are both hard to learn, and quite different, knowing LoL won't do amazing amounts. Russolini is also quite right, the game can be quite crushing sometimes: http://www.nerfnow.com/comic/566/
