I don't know anything regarding results at uni. What will happen if you fail something? Do they cut a set amount of people from the course who have the lowest grade averages after a period of time or something (as in do they only want people to continue if they get above a certain mark)? Will it be more difficult to do better in suppose Commerce at Monash than UoM or vice versa?

If you fail something, you simply re-enrol in that subject another semester and do it again.

You will rarely be kicked out of your course for low marks, unless you fail... say... the same subject 3 times in a row. Then you may be called before the Academic Whatsamacallit Committee and they'll ask you why you're struggling, and maybe see if they can work something out for you. "Something" may include asking you to take a gap year to recollect yourself, it doesn't necessarily mean they'll ask you to leave.

You're far more likely to get expelled for plagiarism than you are for failing.
