Does anyone know of any financial assistance that an international student could get from the government e.g. Centrelink?

I'm an international student myself and I don't think there's any assistance(that I known of) that we can get. If you're talking about grant or bursaries then there're always scholarships. But the funny thing is sometimes it's hard to declare that you're in need of financial assistance if you're an international student. Because if you can afford the money to go overseas and study then  you definitely are financial stable.
I'm searching for scholarships too, but most of them are academic merits which I never have the chance to even dream of :(
