My parents gave the reason that we "celebrated" to make sure that we didn't feel left out whilst in primary school (a school which was 99% Anglo when I was there - so I guess I was part of a very small ethnical minority haha). I guess that was a good reason at the time. We had a tree and everything, good fun imo :D

As a family, we also acknowledge other religious days (although not to the same extent) and celebrate a few Hindu religious days throughout they year :)

My family celebrates Christmas as a day to give each other presents and whatnot, but not to acknowledge the birth of Christ. However, we celebrate it with family who are christian and are celebrating it for that reason.

Well I think this is the case anyway  :P

My family aren't regular Sunday Church-goers, but we are a religious Roman Catholic family that celebrates Christmas. Coming from a traditional Italian background, we do have the exchange of gifts, but we all spend lunch and dinner together and we try to attend mass as well. :)

Never celebrated Christmas or any other religious festivity around this time. However, I have been invited to stay with family who celebrate, so this might be my first Christmas, eh?

Yeah, my family does celebrate christmas and this is the only day in the year where we go to church as well, which is actually good fun cause all the people that I went to primary school with are coming as well, so we see each other once a year. But generally we are not religious and don't believe in god.
We always have a christmas tree and exchange gifts and ,in comparison to last year when I was in Melbourne, I'll probably have a white christmas this year as well. [it was snowing tonight :)]

Yep, my family does indeed celebrate Christmas - it's a bit of a chore at times tbh. I enjoy spending time with them, but the rest of Christmas feels forced :/

Not sure how to seperate out whether we do it religiously or not....we go to carols and church and all that but thats cause my sister goes to a catholic primary school and thats just the events they have...

To be honest, i prefer the non-anglo christmas, the dutch Santa Claus (Sinter Klaas). He comes on a boat (sort of like a drug dealer) from Spain and rides a horse around.

Here, if you're bad, you get coal, in Europe, you get kidnapped in a sack and taken back to a lair. In another place, he'll beat you himself with a bag of ashes or if you're lucky, he'll just leave a stick in your stocking for your parents to do it.

He's way more seedy and interesting than our Santa Claus i reckon.

Well my Aunties and their shitty husbands are all like "praise da loward" whilst my Mum is an Atheist and my Dad is a laborer and thus replies to any question with "I don't give a fuck, mate" but my family always does Christmas day. Every year I tell them not to get me any presents because I don't want to celebrate what I don't believe in. This year I'm going to ask my rostering manager to just give me 6am until 6pm and tell her I'll waive the overtime so I have many excuses hehe

I'm atheist so don't celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday, but I do take it as a time to give and receive presents and decorate the Christmas tree...etc. Its the spirit which I generally like plus Boxing Day is always good!
