Hi All

I was wondering if someone could give me advice on choosing majors for Bachelor of Commerce?
Finished first year of uni...and need to come to a decision for my 2 majors.

Accounting
Actuarial studies
Business law and taxation
Business modelling
Econometrics and business statistics
Economics
Finance
Financial and insurance mathematics
International commerce
Management studies
Marketing
Philosophy and politics
Sustainability

I've come down to Accounting, Finance, International Commerce

Has anyone done/doing or know anything about International Commerce as a major?

Accounting/finance.  The 2 most common commerce majors and opens possibly the most doors at grad level. Be warned, finance is no walk in the park in later yrs and accounting is most possibly the driest dicipline one can do.

As sluu001 has said accounting and finance are the most common majors to do, but with that being said, they aren't necessary going to be the easiest. I would say that they would allow you to have more options come job hunting days.

Btw for actuarial studies, is it the same as UOM where if you choose it, you can't choose another major?

Do finance :P It's great, very useful and interesting.

I would suggest international commerce over accounting, unless you want to become an accountant, you will find accounting dead boring (just my own opinion lol), international commerce complements finance nicely, especially if you do units related to international finance.
