Chapter 1 is probably enough, maybe cover some of the vector stuff if that's chapter 2. I don't think it's necessary to complete the entire course especially if you're not going to do it properly or if you won't remember it! It would be a waste of time!
Holidays are holidays! Do your readings and set homework but chill for the remainder of the time. You don't have to go ahead and learn extra content.

If you're going to do that make sure you don't burn out and you learn the content properly!

My school will be closing the specialist class and I've already started homework/working ahead and gathering extra resources. -.-

You're so lucky to have the subject still open. :)

Well the school is against it seeing as it's difficult to find the motivation to do work, without a teacher on your back. So I doubt I'll be able to do it- will have to do business or legal instead.

Yep. They opened it because we had 5 students. Two of them decided to leave, so they can focus on their other 4 subjects, so there's only 3 students left. Apparently, that's not enough to keep a class open, even though they had only 4 students last year.

You *have* to submit work every week for marking for distance ed, otherwise your distance ed teacher probably isn't going to be happy (and risk failing the unit if you don't submit all the required work regularly). Isn't that pretty much the equivalent to having a teacher on your back?

The part you need motivation for is to go beyond the set work and do more stuff. But that's going to be the case for just about every class you do, distance or not.

If you want to do spesh, slap your school around and make them bend -- it's barely any effort on their side to let you do distance ed really.

a class can still run with less than 5 students, but you would have to combine with another cohort to do this. and as such, your class would have to do the sacs of the cohort your combining with. its not a nice situation, because ur teacher doesnt even know whats going to be on the sacs. im lucky cause the spech class is of around 8 students at my school

Not necessarily next year I only have 2 classes with 5 or more students and we are not being combining with another school for sacs , schools can receive special consideration and be allowed to have classes with less than 5 students afaik
