Who here is coming to MelbUni next year? If so, what degree are you doing and what do you hope to achieve with it? (ie. Post-grad work, international career)

UoM FTW

EDIT: Changed titled to JAFFYs. Lolz.

So true!!!! Melbourne has made for an amazing university experience for me. These last three years have flown by too fast. I'm excited for the next four years I have at Melbourne. Alot of my friends doing Commerce and what not are entering the work force and doing 9-5 jobs. I'm kind of happy that I'll still have that Uni Lifestyle.

Good luck for everyone awaiting  offers for UMelb!!!

Yeah, I generally refer to them as JAFFYs - even when I was one myself. It's only a short step from "fresher" to "sophomore" and "junior". In my opinion, Americanisms like that sound stupid when being used in Australia. I think college students at UoM often use the US terms - this contributes to my general disdain for them.

Btw, welcome all first years/JAFFYs.

I'm hoping to get into my first preference, bachelor of science-civil systems to then study masters of civil engineering. If I don't get into science, then hopefully I can get into bachelor of environments and then do civil engineering :) hopefully :)
