Well I was advised to complete the Further textbook in the school holidays back when I was doing it in Year 11 - it was a terrible decision, because I essentially forgot the stuff anyway, and I additionally lost a good portion of my chance to rest up (VCE can be tiring at times). Don't listen to what others are saying - do what is best for you. By now, you'll have an idea of what works and what doesn't. And whatever you choose, don't feel guilty about your decision. Just because everyone else is racing ahead doesn't mean you have to! I know that it can be hard, and I felt guilty at times, but I think I am better off for it. Good luck. :)

Hmm, I've already had a 2 week break after my bio exam though... I'll probably just work at a leisurely pace for now, not pushing myself too hard, taking it easy too. I think I was *too* slack this year over the holidays lol

Something I love about VCE. There are so many approaches to it you can take. (well I guess to life when you look at the bigger picture)

I personally actually did the whole further textbook at the end of last year and I didn't forget a thing. I took a different approach to further maths. I guess I'm the sort that likes and doesn't mind being ahead. (I've been ahead whole highschool =P) That worked for me.

Different things will work better for different people. I'm still deciding whether it's worth investing some time looking at the Specialist course in the holidays, after my Year 11 exams I'll have a good think about it.

How much did you guys study over the summer hols :O?

I'm probably one of the hardest workers but this summer I hope to:

Read all English texts twice. (Going to start reading them next week)
Finish unit 3 legal studies.
Finish unit 3 accounting.
Just do set holiday homework for RnS
And write notes for all the first AOS's
Graduated with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) / Bachelor of Arts from Monash University in June 2020.

Completing Practical Legal Training (Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice)

Offering 2021 Tutoring in VCE Legal Studies (Awarded as Bialik College's top Legal Studies Student in 2014).

Offered via Zoom or in person across Melbourne.  Message me to discuss. Very limited places available.

Hmm... Be careful with that sort of approach. Schools tend to review subject selection based on those exam results. If you don't want a hard time, I'd still try my best with them. I still studied for all my Unit 2 exams last year, even though I had a Year 12 subject, and I still did fine in both. It's not as bad as you think. Also, you'll minimise your homework load for the holidays - one of the key components of head start homework is to go over your Unit 2 exam and address weaknesses (although you should still probably do a little bit of this regardless).

I think for the first time ever I might actually use the summer holidays to get a leg up. I'll probably try and do a chapter or two of spesh because honestly, it's that and english that I'm really worried about.

Oh OK then. :P I just know a kid who decided not to study for his Unit 1 & 2 exams, failed Methods and wasn't allowed to do it this year (he wanted to do architecture, so you can imagine how much that screwed him with his major prerequisite gone).
