What about English?
Going into yr 11 next year.
I am a B - grade english student, and wondering what to do to improve over the next 2 years to get into the 40s.

Should i do anything these holidays going into yr 11?
Read things as consistently as you can. Not even that based on schoolwork. Of course, write some essays, submit them to ATARNotes/your teacher and improve on what is marked incorrectly but to be honest, the Year 12 English course doesn't need two years of preparation to score well in; it's easy to learn how to write, but to control the English language well takes a lot of practice - much of which the top scorers get throughout their lives as they read for fun! So while you've got so much time, if you're serious about wanting to score well, you will read something everyday other than your textbooks. Newspapers (read The Age), novels (not 50 Shades). The more you read now the better you'll do later.

--What CB said about writing blog posts is also a great idea - I kept a blog throughout Year 12 and I'd say it helped me a little bit and I scored over 40 :)
✌️just do what makes you happy ✌️

There was a guy from the Class of 2011 who was a C+ student at the beginning of Year 12 English.

He ended up with a 47.

Proves that with the right amount of effort, you can get anywhere. :)

My English improved heaps last year - I found my grades fell just a little bit, but that's expected as the marking level also increases with your increase in skill. My biggest advice would be to concentrate on context since it's quite new and different to the other styles of writing you'll have to do. Otherwise, just follow the tips provided above. Write write write!!!

Hi everyone! As sad as this might sound, I'm actually feeling pretty pumped for 2013/2014. I know it's going to be a hell of work, but I'm pretty confident that I've chosen the right subjects and I feel like I'm finally heading in the right direction!  :D

Nice to know who will probably become a wealth of forum support in these coming years. What VCE subjects have the class of 2014 already completed?

So I doubt AN or anyone else would be making a study guide for food and technology?
