I'm also doing better than what I expected, but since Legal and Bio are two completely different types of subjects, I just have to learn to balance them. In my opinion, legal is more of a rote learning kind of subject because you can just memorize answers to questions and do well by just regurgitating these answers back onto your SAC (but there's a lot to remember), while in Biology you're required to understand the topics in depth as well as experimental design, etc. But overall, I'm doing okay I guess.

Yeah Further Maths is MUCH easier than Biology, in terms of the content + how much revision I need to do. At the moment, my priority is really consolidating the information regarding my 3/4s and doing well on my SACs so that I can get #1 ranking and pave the path to a 50.. hopefully!

You're much more confident than I was about getting a 50 in year 11. That's great. Don't ever stop believing in yourself!  :D

Thank you :) I wouldn't say that my aim is to get a 50 and nothing but a 50; and of course, every VCE student would love to see a 50 for a subject. I just put that into perspective and work for it; if I get anything lower, I'll know that I have done my absolute best, and I would not have any regrets, knowing that at the end of the year, I did what I could + I didn't do anything that could have made me achieve a higher S.S. Also, I don't want to be too over confident! =)

Aww thank you :) So do you! I think its just good to be confident but not overly confident because being overly-confident about getting a 50 for instance, will cause you to literally spew if you get a 49, just because you're so narrow-minded about achieving that and nothing else. That is why I'm working for a high score. I'm over thinking I just want a 50; hopefully I can get one, but we'll see how I go :D

Even though I'm in Pi (Phillip Island) I'm desperately trying to start one of my novels that I've been neglecting since the day I bought it. I also brought my Busman stuff to look over. When I get home on Monday I'll start finishing off my notes for physical education and psychology as I have sacs on the first week back for those subjetcs.I'll also try to do a bit of revisin for the other subjetcs, whilst contemplating whether or not to buy Grand Turismo and the driving wheel.

*such a tough choice

Don't fall into this trap on the exam. I think legal is often underestimated because of SACs that aren't as well written as the exam (understandable). I agree, it can be rote learned significantly more than other subjects, however, you'll find when you start doing practice exams that the real skill in legal studies is breaking down the marks, correctly interpreting the question, understanding the content. This last point, you might disagree with me on because you've been rote learning, however, you might just have a natural understanding that comes from rote learning and you just don't recognise that natural understanding. Reading a definition 100 times does not exclude the ability to understand that definition. If you memorised definitions, memorised the questions that match those definitions, and tried to do a 'pair up' game on the exam, you'd get fucked pretty hard.

I understand that you have to correctly interpret the question and have an understanding of the content (otherwise whats the point of studying it ) , but i mean compared to other subjects its a fairly rote-learn type subject :P.

I'm maintaining a similar attitude to you. There are definitely a lot of Year 11's doing Further for the high score. I'm currently going through study guides this holiday, although more of my time goes into methods.

My approach to my VCE is a little different, and I guess risky, doing two maths in Year 11, I've seen people who have done really well in Methods in Yr11 and also very well in Further in Yr11, just doing them both at the same time is where I got to really manage how I do things =)

I've seen a few others who are doing two 3/4's this year, but if anyone has specific tips for someone doing two maths in Yr11, I'm open to any comments =p

Honestly to all year 11s reading this you should just go berserk with your 3/4 subject. You shouldn't feel pressured, because if you do happen to score lower than your goal, it won't matter as you'll be doing subjects in year 12 that will make up for it.

I can guarantee you that I am doing that lol. These holidays, I've been doing Further Maths + Biology all of the time!
