I better start doing solid homework and work at school! Is there anyway you guys could like motivate me to actually listen in class :3 ? I genuinely sit there and do nothing, and I don't study or do homework and I want to change this for the last term ... and when I am going to start revision I have no idea. When are we, or were we meant to start revision?

A lot of my classes are discussion/lecture based, so I may look like a creep but I force myself to actually look at the teacher when they're talking to the class or to my peers when they are saying a point in a discussion because it helps me focus a lot. I also make myself take down notes to keep me focused.

In terms of doing study/homework, make a to do list of tasks you want/need to get done. And do them and cross them off. I love that feeling of satisfaction. I'd say probably start revision soon. I've now finished all my set holiday homework so I've just started doing some light exam revision for Further and Bio, just some StudyON questions.

The very word 'Further' makes me cringe... The perils of being incompetent at Mathematics...

Woohoo. I did my first bit of holiday homework today and actually read (or listened) to my english book death of a salesman. It was actually pretty fun to listen to but it took me like three days to do that, and all I know is like a summary of the book after that which I could have gotten off spark notes.

Might try and do some homework for my other subjects tomorrow. I 100% am not doing anything for Psychology or Economics because I'm gone in both of them, as I am in English although I think if I actually start trying (like today) I could probably go like D A A+ by the end of the year which would probably still suck as a study score.

The biggest conundrum of all is that the course I have had my eyes set on (Business @ Monash) requires a fucking prerequisite for a mathematics which I didn't do, so I should bow out now because nothing else interests me unfortunately at undergraduate level from Monash.

have you looked at caufield? or you could do another similar course that doesn't require maths then switch.

Why are you so set on Monash out of curiosity? Are you very interested in the reputation?

I just spent the entirety of last week recharging my CAS calculator, I used it for 1 hour doing homework and it went down to 75%. Ugh.
Do people normally get new batteries for their calculators at this stage or should I just endure it until I finish VCE?

Suggest you get a new battery if it's starting to get funny. Not worth risking it since  you will really on it in SACs/exams.

I sent an email to VCAA and I acquired this response: "Pencil cases can only be brought into the examination room if they are transparent, i.e. the contents are visible to the supervisor."

Surprisingly I've never witnessed anyone in my high school bring in a pencil case before, hence the enquiry after I found out one could.

I don't want to risk anything and being kicked out of the exam room based on incorrect equipment.

Do you think these photos would suffice the VCAA requirement? I have to make 100% sure, I'd also be interested to know as to how others are setting their equipment up either in prep. for Unit 4 SACs or Exams.

yeah those would definitely be fine, don't worry too much about it. as long as they can see what's inside you can use whatever you want tbh, i used a sandwich bag last year.

Enigma, what did you use for your exams last year? Most people at my school just used a plastic sleeve.

I'd literally just stuff pencils, pens etc... into my pocket/s for the relevant exam/s.

I was too scared that plastic sleeves would break, as this happened to me in previous examination years.

It's good that 'transparent pencil cases' are allowed.

That's what I did for most of my exams, nothing wrong with it imo.

Yeah, just for me personally it feels like I'm disorganised.

It's a minor thing, but I need to be entering Exams and SACs with equipment immaculately set out in the future, maybe even separate transparent pencil cases for all my subjects.

Often I hear about teachers saying "you should always answer the easiest question first to boost confidence." Since I just go by quantitative order all the time, might as well get some assurance via preparation. Anything that can help, even if it's only a 1-2% morale lifter I am willing to try.

The last thing I want to do is doubting myself, which is nearly always the case, hence why I am focusing on my efficiency of study and being more organised for Semester 2.

Maybe my school is more strict but my coordinator told us coloured transparent cases/drink bottles aren't allowed into an exam.

The first pencil case you posted would be okay  I use a plastic pocket
