Wooh grats!

Legal is soo competitive at the top end (especially with an easy exam like last year), so having amazing  SAC marks is great! :)

Thanks everyone!

Tbh I'm pretty disappointed in myself because the last 2 weeks I've done barely anything.
I've done like a total of 10 practice exams all up. Very lazy.
Practice exams at school starts tomorrow and go until Wednesday and from here on out and I'm going to give it everything I've got.

I feel as though I just want to ignore methods and lit because I hate them and don't want to study for them. They're going to be my bottom 2. I don't know of that's a good idea though.

I just got home from the Access Education lecture at ACU this morning. Definitely worth while for me, I picked up a few nice tips and tricks and clarified a couple of things I didn't really understand.

Then my friend and I went out for lunch to Vegie Bar and the food was so good. Such a good way to spend the last day of the holidays.

To be honest I didn't get that much studying done. I started off really well the first week but then practice exams started at school and the last couple of days I've spent preparing for my oral (which is tomorrow!!?!)

i can feel myself starting to get sick and my german oral is in 4 days fml my pronunciation is gonna be terrible
this is just my luck though lol

honestly though i feel like i've wasted the past two weeks. i've barely done anything for my subjects (even for my oral) except for the compulsory practice exams at school. every time i've tried to do work my brain has just shut down and rebelled against me ::)

good luck with your oral, hope you smash it! :D it's nerve-wracking in the lead up but once it's done you'll feel so relieved haha

I'm so glad I'm not the only one... Like phew. I do feel energised though so I'm ready to work hard for the next few weeks and then we're free!

I think I've decided I'm going to just neglect methods and lit. I don't like them and my score won't dramatically change within the next few weeks. i'd rather focus my energy on my best/favourite subjects which could turn my 40 into say a 41 or 42 which would affect my ATAR more than a 20 in methods to a 25.
Been playing around on ATAR calc and if I get  40 in legal and health and a 35 in English language, I'll get an ATAR of around 89 (with a methods and lit score of 20).. So i'd rather work hard to get those scores than waste my time on lit and methods

Plus, the course I want only needs an ATAR of 60 and doesn't need methods.

Does anyone think this is a good idea? I understand the whole, it's easy to say you want a 40 but you need to get it and stuff. But I'm more confident in legal than I was psych last year and I think I can do it.

I decided to take it easy for the last day of the holidays. I seem to be having similar problems to some and being adequately motivated for some subjects and then tempted to do absolutely nothing for others. How many of you have already chosen your bottom two? Do you reckon this is a good strategical move to focus time on the top 4 subjects?

And I cannot wait until the orals are over either. At this point I've given up caring how I go I just want it to be done.

I've already got the first of my bottom two (psych, scaled from 39 to 36) and lit. Definitely. Even if I get an A+ on the lit exam, I'd only be looking at high 30s - low 40s. I think that it's a good strategy for me because I have 9 days between English and lit but then only two days between lit and revs. Definitely want to use most of that week for revs, instead of just writing lit essays and reading the texts.

Same with me re orals. Thankfully they're only worth 12.5% of the overall mark. I know that they'll affect our SAC scores but it won't be by much.

Some will disagree but I definitely think it's a great idea. The time you gain from not studying for that 10% subject is of much more worth than the time you use to study for it - you can use that extra time to focus on your top 4 subjects which will affect your ATAR more significantly.

The only real problem is that it's sometimes difficult to tell whether or not you will actually do badly in that one subject. The exam mark is extremely influential and if you are able to bump it up to an A/A+ then it's still possible to do better in that subject than another which you might mess up due to doing badly on the exam etc. But yeah in general I think it's a good idea.
